Build and change flows with a coding agent
Every flow is a JSON file underneath – the file you get from Export current version and import with Create from file. That makes it something a coding agent such as Claude Code, Copilot or Cursor can write for you: describe the flow you want, or hand it an exported flow and say what should change.
For that, the agent needs to know the format. We publish a documentation written for coding agents at github.com/mse365/autoflow-agent-docs. It describes every trigger and action with its settings and outputs, how SmartFields and references are written, and the checks AutoFlow runs at import and publish. A validator runs those checks on your computer, so mistakes show up before you import the flow.
Getting started
- Clone the repository next to your flow files:
git clone https://github.com/mse365/autoflow-agent-docs.git - Tell your agent to read
autoflow-agent-docs/AGENTS.mdbefore it touches a flow, for example: "Read autoflow-agent-docs/AGENTS.md, then build a flow that …". - To change an existing flow, export it first and give the agent the file.
- Import the result with Create from file – see Exporting and importing flows. An imported flow arrives as a draft, so review it in the flow editor before you publish it.
